Key responsibilities of this position include supporting the development and implementation of product verification procedures and analysis of test results including; component, system, and process specifications. Reporting directly to the Manager of Product Specifications and Test Procedures, this position is based in Shady Grove, PA.Essential Job Functions• Verification testing and specification development of predominately off-highway hydraulic construction equipment.• Support test and product performance specifications to assure that Manitowoc products are built and verified to the highest standards.• Work closely with other product verification departments to develop specific standardized specifications and tests, for component, system and full vehicle performance criteria.• Coordinate and direct 3rd party or independent testing services.• Test construction equipment in actual or simulated field or lab conditions.• Work with test technicians to ensure proper testing procedures are followed.• Communicate with engineering to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, and data interpretation.• Mentor, direct, and train test technicians.• Establish and implement test methods to ensure early identification of potential problems with new and existing products and processes.• Prepare analysis, test, performance, schedule, and cost information as required in assigned area of responsibility.• Mentor, direct, and train test technicians.Job Requirements/Working Conditions• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.• 7+ years Test and/or design experience with off road, construction or agricultural equipment will be considered in lieu of a degree.• Experience evaluating product designs and product performance requirements to determine testing requirements.• Excellent technical writing skills are required.• Experience with Engineering/Industry Standards such as ANSI/ASME, ISO, DIN, ASTM, EN, CE, SAE, IEEE, AWS.• Membership and participation with industry standards committees as required.• Experience with Pro/E and a 2D CAD package is a plus.• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)• Experience with Six Sigma principles and Design for Six Sigma is a plus.• Excellent interpersonal communication skills are required with the ability to work independently and in team environments.• Working conditions in engineering lab environment include exposure to heat, cold, wet, dry, etc. for brief periods of time.• Working conditions occasionally require long days at customer or field test sites.• Domestic and international travel required approximately 10% of the time.J2W:CB1J2W:MON1J2W:WBEEO STATEMENTThe Manitowoc Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
