Your Organization Manufacturing Engineering: From customer interaction and new product creation to the implementation of manufacturing processes, Altec Engineers are leading the industry. Manufacturing Engineers work to implement lean manufacturing principles and investigate and resolve quality and parts issues. They provide customer assistance through on-site visits and in house consultations. Responsibilities • Practice prudent engineering and effectively apply formal engineering training to add to the overall effectiveness of the Engineering Group and enhancement of Altec’s position within the product line. • Participate and contribute productively as part of Altec’s team-oriented design, manufacture and customer service/support efforts. • Reporting to more senior engineering personnel, operate with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment. • Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field. • Communicate with customers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operation as appropriate. • Provide technical support to sales associates. • Gain the skills necessary to become a Senior Engineer. Fulfill assigned responsibilities in the following specialty field: QUALITY ENGINEER • Development and operation of quality assurance systems.  Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating products, processes, and production equipment. • Interact with manufacturing and engineering in the resolution of product quality issues. • Utilize statistical tools to identify root causes and improve processes. • Provide input on quality to product development teams; recommends “producibility” improvements by facilitating process reviews, manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling and training. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. • Minimum of two (2) years experience in engineering • Demonstrated through understanding and ability in basic engineering practices and principles. • Must be personable and effectively interact with other associates, departments, OPERATIONs, distributors, vendors, customers, etc. • Good analytical, verbal, and written skills. • Basic understanding of business principles and practice. • Demonstrated capacity as a self-starter with ability to work under only a moderate level of supervision. • Must be confident, dynamic, and successful in working as part of a team. • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and associated software.
