This position reports within a team of Engineers tasked to develop and deliver new metering electronic products that meets our ever emerging customer and global market requirements. Specific duties will include: 1) Synthesizing new PCBA hardware designs from concept to shipment 2) Ensure all designs comply with applicable agency standards (ex.UL, IEC, FCC, etc.) 3) Creating properly designed & constructed interconnects, analog & digital subsystems, power supplies etc. 4) Candidate should also be able to lead a cross functional team of designers as the overall Project Design Lead on new development projects. Duties include: creating schedules, writing processes & procedures, leading meetings, coordinating functions etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be needed for requirements & documentation creation as well as participation in peer and cross functional design reviews.Education:Minimum (4) year Bachelor Degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering froman accredited university.General Experience: Minimum (7) years experience in embedded hardware design and architecture implementation including(See addendum for extended list of competencies):1.Expertise in embedded Microprocessor Design and principles.2.Expertise in digital electronic components including: uP, Integrated IC's, SRAM, NAND and NOR Flash, DDR, Logic IC's3.Experience with analog and mixed signal electronics including:A/D, D/A, Op-Amps, PLL, Oscillators, Crystals4.Proven history of performance on several hardware design projects.5.6.Experience with Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Supplies, Environmental Chambers, and other lab equipment 7.Experience with Schematic Capture, PCB design, Microsoft Windows, Personal ComputersSpecific Experience (Nice to have):Strong understanding of electrical power systems and principles.Strong knowledge of design for Signal Integrity, EMC design & compliance practices.Experience implementing Ethernet and serial communications hardware.Strong knowledge of DFM, DFT, Heat, Shock, Vibration, ESD etc.Basic knowledge of DSP TechniquesExperience with the following: Cadence, Concept HDL, ORCAD, SPICE, IAR, uC-OSII, RTXC, ARM 7-9, Cortex, ThreadX, LabWindows, LabViewAnalog & Digital designMixed signal design, SAR/Sigma Delta/Flash ADCs, DACs power management circuitsFPGA, ARM7, Cortex M3, FPGA, CPLDSPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet PHYDDR SDRAM, SRAM, PLLhigh-speed PCB design, transmission lines, PspiceMathCAD, Orcad CIS, Concept HDL, Cadence AllegroVHDL, assembly, ANSI CElectrical schematics, assembly drawings, PCB artwork, fab. drawingsproject specifications, scheduling/costingDesigning to safety requirements of IEC61010-1.
