Details: Job Classification: Contract Job Summary:Provide operational & administrative support of an Enterprise Storage & Backup environment that includes, but is not limited to: servers, storage arrays, fiber channel switches, directors, NAS, SAN, tape drives/libraries, storage tools and backup software. Collaborate with peers in the evaluation, testing, planning, designing, and implementation of future storage & backup systems. Troubleshoot storage-related performance issues. Respond to user requests for storage allocation. Help train, support and mentor junior storage administrators.Duties and Responsibilities:-Responsible for day to day support of Storage & Backup Environments.-Install, configure, and upgrade storage hardware and software consistent with established standards.-Responsible for administering storage in NetApp/Cisco UCS environment-Configure fibre channel zoning, administer FC switches-Responsible for keeping track of existing Storage & Backup usage trending and making recommendation for future growth.-Accountable to users for problems reported with storage & backup and to track those problems while working with the vendor for a resolution.-Work with vendors to troubleshoot issues, schedule installations and upgrades.Education, Skills and Experience:-3-5 years of storage-related experience-At least 2 years experience with NetApp storage systems, FAS,V-Series-Working Knowledge of ONTAP 7.x, 8.x-Familiarly with IBM TotalStorage systems (DS4800, DS3524)-Familiarity with Cisco UCS, Nexus-Familiarity with VMWare Vsphere 4x-Working Knowledge of Thin Provisioning -Working Knowledge of DeDuplication (Online, Source and Target Based) -Working Knowledge of SAN fabric design, switching, zoning, Brocade experience a plus-Working Knowledge of HBAs, LUN Mapping/Masking/Zoning-Working Knowledge of NFS, CIFS, FC/FCoE, iSCSI protocols-Experience with enterprise backup infrastructures and technologies (e.g. tape drives, tape libraries and backup software (Commvault Simpana, NetApp SnapProtect))-Experience setting up storage replication to address Disaster Recovery-Experience with storage subsystem functionality: cache, clones and snaps.-Familiarity with diagnostic and administrative tools -Extensive experience working in a customer-focused environment. -Demonstrated ability to assess root issues and provide excellent viable solutions for the business and to the customer.-Exemplifies teamwork and serves as role model.-Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing, as well as articulate and translate technical language to non-technical customersJoin TEKsystems® and get your career on the fast track.
